The Mystery Within Seljuk Geometry

The Mystery Within Seljuk Geometry: One Star, Eight Gates, A Single Truth… The eight-pointed star in Seljuk architecture represents a magnificent synthesis of the gates of Paradise—as understood in Islamic belief—and various philosophical virtues. Each point of the star corresponds to a specific gate: the Gate of Prayer (Mercy), the Gate of Rayyan (Compassion), the Gate of Charity (Gratitude), the Gate of Jihad (Loyalty), the Gate of Repentance (Generosity), the Gate of Those Who Suppress Their Anger (Justice), the Gate of the Contented (Truthfulness), and the Gate of Eymen (Keeping Secrets). Together, these gates symbolize the human journey toward both spiritual and moral maturity. This bridge, spanning the space between earth and sky, serves as a symbol of a profound truth.

As Kaşgarlı Mahmut Secondary School, we took our place at the event organized by Necmettin Erbakan University and Konya Provincial Directorate of National Education as part of Erasmus Days. 🇹🇷 🇮🇹 🇷🇴 Within the partnership of Türkiye, Italy, and Romania, we presented our project “Mathematics of Reality STEAM” and shared our work that brings mathematics together with technology, art, engineering, and cultural heritage. We were thrilled to introduce our project, which centers on learning, producing, and gaining new experiences through international cooperation.

As part of Math Week on April 26th, we held a digital outdoor orienteering game with our students as one of the activities of our Erasmus+ project, “The Mathematics of Reality is STEAM”. At the task stations, named after the initials of the STEAM disciplines, our students practically developed their mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, while also actively experiencing the experiential learning process offered by outdoor learning environments.

How to participate:

Add your pin: Click on the map and select your school’s location.

Upload your challenge: In the post, include your mathematical word problem, logic puzzle, or geometry challenge inspired by your country.

Solve and Interact: Check out the pins from other schools and write your solutions in the comments section of each post.

Feedback: Don’t forget to mention which task you found the most creative or challenging!

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, coIn February, we had a fantastic first mobility for our Erasmus+ project “The Mathematics of Reality is on STEAM”. The theme was “Let’s look at maths from the energy and engineering side”.

We truly enjoyed having our partners from Turkey and Italy with us! To deepen our knowledge, we have created a collaborative E-Book.

The Students’ Task:

he Students’ Task:

1. Analyze the energy data table on Page 7.

2. Find a pair of template pages that have not been personalized yet.

3. Personalize the page: Type your school or team name, change the colors to match your style, and add any creative elements you like!

4. Complete the comparison challenge by answering the questions in the speech bubbles.

5. Voice Your Opinion on the second page by writing 2-3 sentences about your favorite energy source.

Let’s show how STEAM can help us save the planet!nsectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
